*Position : EDI Analyst * ** * Duration: 6 month contract* *- Location: Portland, OR* *- Rate: $40/hr * *Interview type : Telephonic after face2 face - Client cannot pay for expenses* *- Candidate must have excellent communication skills (9/10)* *- Candidates must have experience in the transportation/freight industry, and have familiarity with LTL. * *- Candidates who have worked with messaging types related to motor carriers (204, 210, etc.) will be given preference.* *Summary:* Serve as the liaison between the IT community and LTL field users. Identify and analyze EDI business needs/requirements and assist in the design, training, testing and implementation of solutions. Function as the subject matter expert on CTS operations on self directed project development teams and independently for applications support. Educate IT personnel on how users perform their duties and how operations function. Ensure tasks are completed on a timely basis and conform to specifications, processes and standardized best practices. Position requires some travel. Essential Functions: · Participate in the identification, review and analysis of EDI business requirements and assist in the design and development of solutions. · Provide subject matter expertise on all aspects of CTS operation systems. · Maintain strong communications links between CTS field users and the IT community. · Participate in the training and development of IT personnel on how CTS staff perform their duties and how business operations function. · Arrange field site visits, tours, and information seminars. Includes travel to customer operational locations. · Participate in establishing test criteria. · Participate in the deployment/implementation of application solutions. · Support ongoing operations by responding to queries and problems. · Participate in a self directed team environment. Collaborate with project team members and QA on development, customer issues, and security requirements. *Qualifications* Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Some college preferred, or the equivalent combination of education and experience. · 5+ years of cross functional experience in LTL field operations including policies, procedures, equipment, customers, personnel, and facilities. · Well developed written and verbal communication skills in customer settings and with internal senior management. Effective active listening, interviewing, facilitation, and presentation skills. · Broad range of network and desktop knowledge, including experience with EDI translators (Gentran), EDI standards, ANSI X12/EDIFACT, EDIFECS, XML, JCL, TSO, and Microsoft Office Suite. · Working knowledge of IT software and applications development methodologies and processes. · Basic project management skills. Well developed time management and prioritization skills. · Ability to organize and prioritize work and projects. · Ability to communicate business needs to technical people and to communicate and simplify complex technical information for non-technical people.
