In this role, the Essbase Developer will, among other tasks, participate in cube development and structures, work with business teams to define requirements for data extracts and data management and where required develop these extracts, write reports and will assist with other Essbase-specific tasks as appropriate. This role will work with project management and IS developers to understand business/user requirements and develop solutions to meet those requirements. This position will be required to provide knowledge transfer to the IS Essbase team members, including documentation of all application development. Key contacts for this position include the Finance users, Business Intelligence resources, Master Data resources, other Finance IS, Web and Oracle IS teams; global IT, and International and North American SAP Support teams.** * * *Detailed Description of Job Responsibilities (Tasks & Deliverables):* *Development of data extracts and data requirements where required * Develop, test and document load rules and Essbase calculation scripts * Design and develop unique/business-specific cubes * Support the development and enhancement of Essbase outlines * Evaluate dimension storage type (dense vs sparse) * Define block and/or aggregate storage databases * Possess an understanding of basic structured programming concepts * Develop technical specifications for ad hoc and flat file data load interfaces into or out of the application * Create and maintain Hyperion Essbase application administrator documentation *Create Essbase batch processes, including shell scripts, MaxL and/or Esscmd * Ensure data integrity within Essbase and Staging, cross-system consistency and timely updates * Maintain hierarchy structures, standard and business specific reporting templates and other administrator tasks as required * Understand user access through System 9 Shared Services * Support implementation of new applications as included in the project, test script development and test script execution with global IT group. * Test application changes against business requirements, prior to turning over to business testers. Tests include unit testing, module testing and integration testing. Test data for integrity and completeness during data migration and conversions. * Develop and implement policies and procedures surrounding application changes, report maintenance and security maintenance * Write reports in various environments, including Hyperion Reports and Business Objects *Create and maintain application user operation documentation *Ensure proper utilization of current and future financial reporting system modules *Assist users in creation of custom automated reporting templates *Evaluate system processes across the organization for improvement: * Provide input to process improvements and assist in creation of project plans * * *Mandatory Experience:* Required * Bachelors or Masters Degree, Information Systems, Accounting or Finance preferred * Minimum of 5 years of Essbase application management experience * Essbase certified * Strong Microsoft Excel and Essbase Add-In skills *Experience with ASO *Experience with Hyperion Planning * Project management experience Beneficial: * Experience with Business Objects reporting suite * SAP experience * Excellent communication skills demonstrated by: * Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with users from all levels within the organization * Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with various primary languages * Strong interpersonal skills including: ability to understand customer needs and to teach and mentor others, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, detail oriented with strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills, proactive in identifying issues and solutions where improvement is needed, proven management experience * A team player with ability to work with a variety of internal and external contacts * Ability to think strategically and influence process at an enterprise level -- Regards, Shankar 248-522-6879 Technology consultanst inc -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
