Specific Job Functions: Identifies and defines business services that
provide common functionality to consumer applications across the WellPoint
enterprise. Responsible for working with application program teams or
business domain experts to identify existing or new services that will meet
enterprise requirements. Defines service interfaces, specifications and test
scenarios for each service that will provide common enterprise functions for
key business domains. Consults with application teams to support
implementation of enterprise services according to specification. Maintains
consistency of service elements and concepts with enterprise models.
Supports enterprise integration architects and developers to ensure
successful service version management and integration. Specific Skill Set
Requirements: Demonstrated experience in Object or Service-Oriented Analysis
and Design using Use Cases and UML Modeling techniques Demonstrated
experience using and creating Data or Object models Experience using
Business Process models Expert level knowledge of XML and supporting XML
editing tools Excellent oral and written communication skills, including
facilitation and presentation Understanding and experience in Healthcare
Payor business processes and concepts strongly preferred Strong
understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture and Enterprise Integration
concepts and practices Ability to demonstrate leadership, collaboration and
independence in a virtual team environment

Responsible for aligning data solutions to business requirements by planning
and managing data architecture work. Coaches others on data architecture
matters.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Applies and adapts industry-accepted data architecture practices and
techniques appropriately. Under guidance, integrate these practices and
techniques across allied disciplines and help develop enterprise roll-out
and adoption strategies. Applies and adapts data architecture principles,
standards, guidelines and concepts appropriately. Under guidance, integrate
architecture practices, techniques, principles, standards, guidelines and
concepts across allied disciplines and help develop enterprise roll-out and
adoption strategies. At the enterprise level, in collaboration with
specialists from allied disciplines, produces data models that meet business
requirements. Identifies opportunities and recommend approaches that will
increase the business value of data. Designs and leads model design
sessions. Manages project-level modeling efforts. Under guidance, manages
enterprise-level modeling efforts. Stays apprised of best practices for
physical design for at least one major DBMS platform on the technology tool
stack and ensures that this knowledge is reflected in Data Architecture work
practice documentation. Designs data architecture work practices to support
data quality standards and guidelines. Develops work practices for the
modeling tool. Institutes metric collection/tracking in IT project
assessments and assists in data quality improvements. Serves a Data
Architecture Project Manager role within Data Architecture to assist with
Major projects. Works with the Project Management Office and other
significant stakeholders to ensure that work processes related to SLAs are
incorporated in the system development life cycle methodology.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Requires BA/BS degree in related discipline; 6-8 years related data
management experience; or any combination of education and experience which
would provide an equivalent background. Data modeling background required. 4
years of health care industry experience preferred. SKILLS: Analytical,
communication and planning skills required.
