Responsible for engineering (planning, design, implementation and support) of end-to-end hosting infrastructure for complex n-tier web applications and services. This position will require that the candidate provide technical direction and leadership in support of web-based technologies. He/she will evaluate potential solutions and provide recommendations on security components, server hardware, web server software, web appliances, utilities, etc in the hosting environment. Candidate will research and apply new technologies and methods to reduce costs and improve productivity and service. Candidate will be responsible for creating all related engineering documents, drawings and IP administration efforts; will develop new designs and documentation to improve current web hosting operating procedures; utilize equipment to support fault detection, correlation, performance metrics and reporting to support specific service level requirements.; design secure, reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions for business-critical applications. This role will require working in multiple capacities with systems and security administrators, application developers, and other technical and business stakeholders. The position requires a solid knowledge of web hosting, application technologies, supporting infrastructure and operational security. *Tasks and Responsibilities:* • Identify, design and implement flexible, responsive, and secure engineering technology services. • Research and evaluate infrastructure strategies, hardware/software, and application solutions. • Advise management of options, risks, costs, benefits and other impacts of infrastructure solutions. • Set technical infrastructure, engineering, operational and design standards and procedures • Develop and document operational policies, guidelines and OA&M support documentation. • Research and stay current on best practices and function as a subject matter expert (SME) in web hosting, applications and allied technologies and infrastructure. • Manage or supports hosting projects by developing detailed project work plans, acquiring necessary resources, and monitoring progress and providing regular status reports to management. • Solve complex infrastructure and security problems using load-balancers, proxies, web servers, application and network firewalls and other infrastructure building blocks. • Assess and review requirements, designs and implementations for security, performance, and reliability. • Create specifications and designs for load-balancing, fail-over, firewall policies and other traffic controls consistent with corporate security policies. • Provide an escalation path for persistent real-time problems and contribute to long-term solutions for major deficiencies. • Lead project tasks focused on improving performance, reliability, and scalability of hosting designs. • Follow Corporate Change Management Policy and provide technical review of maintenance activities to mitigate customer impact. • Interface and partner with applications and security specialists, system users, owners and vendor contacts. • Assist in application, system, and infrastructure services planning. • Provide 3rd tier 24x7 systems engineering support. • Effectively use software/hardware diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methodologies to identify, diagnose and repair complex problems affecting end-to-end performance and reliability of web applications. • Provide technical project leadership in planning, design, implementation and support of web hosting and application projects. *Required education/experience:* • BS / MS or technical institute degree / certificate in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, technical designations and work experience. • More than 7 years of related experience in IT functions. • Excellent knowledge of IT engineering and its role in supporting business applications. • Serves as point of escalation for complex issues. • Responsible for developing and executing project plans, as well as coordinating groups of IT staff. -- Regards, Shankar 248-522-6879 Technology consultanst inc -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
