1 year IT Database Services is an Information Technology Infrastructure group that keeps the various relational databases at 3M up and running. The Data Base Administrator will be working on Microsoft SQL Server databases running on Microsoft Windows. Basic/Minimum Qualifications: Technical Skills: - SQL proficiency (DDL and DML) - Knowledge of application-to-database connectivity - Knowledge of database security - DTS/SSIS package creation and support - Knowledge of appropriate OS command and scripting languages Business Acumen: - Knowledge and experience of database development - Knowledge and experience with database administration and operational support - Knowledge of application development processes General: - Great communication skills - written and oral - Can work effectively in a team as well as independently - Capability to manage multiple priorities Interpersonal Relationships - Provide information about database design, features and functions to application development team - Works with IT Infrastructure to implement, upgrade and support production databases Tools: - Standard DBMS toolsets required to support Microsoft SQL Server - Competency using SQL command line Process: - Migrations of data conversion and transformation - Database installation, maintenance, and upgrade - SQL (DDL and DML) coding and testing Preferred Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience is desired.
