Job Description:
*Title : Backup Solution ArchitectLocation:
Corning, NYDuration: PermanentNo: of positions: 2 *
1. He will involve in designing the backup and archival solutions for
small to enterprise customer environments including VTL, De-duplication etc
which meets regulatory compliances.
2. He is responsible for providing transformation solution, approach,
plan and implement the same with team of Backup implementation engineers
3. Should be able to make business case for solution provided
4. He will take up backup and archival assessment engagement which
involves detailed study to recommend the tactical and strategical solution
to customer.
5. He is responsible for solution presentations to customer
6. Sizing of backup infrastructure, tape library, recommending backup
solution for virtual, physical, typical infra application , VTL, Tape
library and defining the backup policies.( For any vendor product-EMC )
Job Requirements:
- Should be well versed with backup and archival technologies
- Should be well versed with backup and archival solution from
EMC,..(Minimum two technology skills are mandatory – For design and
implementation)
- Sound knowledge on trouble shooting backup issues
- Must have had hand-on experience on at least two vendor products on
backup and archival ( EMC and Netback up)
- Should SAN and NAS technologies
- Extensive experience in installing, upgrading, and maintaining backup
and archival environment
- Working knowledge of UNIX and windows operating systems.
- Good understanding of EMC disk and replication technologies on both
Symmetrix and CLARiiON - BCVs, snaps, consistent split, RAID, etc. OR
equivalent products from and IBM
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
- Good customer service and communication (oral and written) skills.
Ability to deliver professional engagement documentation.
*Certifications:*
Any industry standard certifications on backup and archival
