This is my direct client opening for Software Development Engineer in Test - Seattle, WA. This is a 4 - 6 Months contract position. The Hourly rate is $45-$50/hr. Candidates need to interview in person after the phone screen and should be in the WA area. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this opening. Job Summary: This is an intermediate-level SDET position. The ideal candidate will have a strong testing or development background and have a solid understanding of Java technologies and testing practices. Position requires a talented person with significant Agile and Java experience to help create and maintain technical solutions to support our internal business customers. This person will be instrumental in the design, development, deployment of tests and their related resources to maintain and improve the high quality nature of the client's business information systems. Responsibilities: * Work closely within an Agile environment with other engineers, Business Analysts, and Scrum Master to understand product requirements, validate the feature set being tested, and test the critical elements to determine application stability and functionality * Design, implement and run automated tests and framework at the unit and system levels early in the development cycle and provide tight feedback on feature design and functionality * Develop test automation, design white box tests, design testing infrastructure, participate in code reviews, perform basic debugging, file defects, and pursue resolutions * Analyze code coverage results and design additional tests from a white box test design approach to reduce under-tested areas of the product Qualifications: * 2+ years of software development or testing experience using Java involving object-oriented practices. * 1+ years test experience using JUnit * 2+ years of industry experience with Java, JSP, HTML, Ajax, CSS, and XML * Intermediate JDBC and SQL skills * Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, TDD) * Unix platform experience required * Exposure to Java Frameworks (Hibernate / EJB3, Spring) * Experience with revision control tools (Subversion) * Solid understanding of build tools such as Maven or Ant * Analytical self-starter with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail * Strong debugging and technical problem solving skills - passion to solve complex problems. * B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Please complete the following skills-matrix and send back with your updated resume.
