Job Title: Core Java Developer
Location: Houston, TX
Duration: 6-9 Months Contract
Job Description:
Agile/Scrum, having participated in a team following these practices for a
period of a couple of years.
Test Driven Development. JUnit and mocking libraries (e.g., Mockito or
JMockit) are a must.
Principles of Object Oriented programming, interfaces, abstractions,
dependencies, etc.
Core Java & related utilities/libraries, particularly collections,
multithreading & queues (java.util.concurrent.* package), JMX
(java.management.*), security, XML, JSON, JDBC, Maven, SLF4J & logback.
Stand-alone Java application development (I don’t care for J2EE container
based development).
Alternative dependency injection frameworks like Google Guice, dependency
injection, JDBC templates, and support for JMS.
Distributed applications, load balancing, fail-over, high availability,
etc.
Messaging and JMS, particularly ActiveMQ hands-on experience with the use
of embedded brokers.
Relational database modeling; Oracle and PL/SQL programming.
No-SQL databases, particularly MongoDB.
