Hello – I have a new requirement with my direct client in Allentown, PA for a Citrix Technical Consultant. This is a very long term position – the initial duration is 1 year, and there will be long term extensions.
The full description is below – the candidates *must* have some Citrix *Design or Engineering* experience. They *cannot* be just a Citrix Admin person. The other keys to the job are to have experience with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop upgrades / implementations. Skype / Telephone interviews are ok – local candidates will be given preference. The ideal candidate has experience with Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop upgrades / implementations *Expert Knowledge in one or more of the following areas:* - this is a hands on roll but there will likely be some design work. This person will be helping with everything from upgrade implementation to advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, monitoring and documentation - Citrix XenApp v6.5 /7.x administration, implementation & advanced troubleshooting. - Implementation and management of Citrix XenDesktop Hosted Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) including expertise with AppSense Environment Manager. - Deployment of applications hosted in virtual environments. *Technical Skills:* - XenApp v6.x & above, with preference towards XenApp v6.5 - XenDesktop v5.x. / v7.x - Provisioning Services v6.x / v7.x - Web Interface Management & StoreFront - Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit & above - User Profile Management, with a preference on AppSense & Citrix Technologies - Management/Automation through PowerShell and/or VB Scripting - VMware vSphere v5.x & above *Competencies:* - Ability to work in a team environment. - Understand and operate within company policies and procedures. - Coordination of change testing and implementation in a production environment. - Participate in off hours on call rotation supporting the Citrix infrastructure. - Responsible for day-to-day activities to ensure high availability of infrastructure that hosts mission critical systems and applications delivered via XenApp and XenDesktop VDI platforms. - Strong analytical problem solving & conceptual skill to analyze, support and administer XenApp/XenDesktop environments driving to a root cause resolution. - Provides technical support to special projects coordinating across several IT departments and must manage several projects at a time. - Create and maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. - Document configurations and procedures that will be transitioned to the Help Center and other Support teams. - Ability to effectively summarize issues, options and recommendations. - Ability to build partnerships with internal customers and collaborate with vendors, consultants, and other ISD personnel. This can include training customers on end user products, new services and core technologies. - Provide technical guidance and IT process expertise on projects or system issues to other infrastructure group staff.
