The ESC implementation team has asked for a TRM resource to perform an
Implementation Risk Assessment of the Operational Reporting System (ORS)
provided by Itron.
This application is used by the SmartConnect Operations Center (SOC) to
monitor the installed meters and cell relays and identify communications and
other network issues.
This application is in Production supporting Stage 1 of ESC. ORS has
encountered several ongoing problems which have caused application outages.
These include long load times for data feeds and integration failures
requiring restarts. Key concerns include: overall architecture of the
solution adequate hardware sizing structure of the code The resource should
have experience in Integration, SQLServer and Microsoft Reporting Tools as
well as knowledge of hardware and sizing

All the SCE GM wants is a real experienced SQL admin person that has worked
in large enterprises and knows how to have the SQL servers kept up to date
with various interfaces and tools so many applications like the one GM had
given description ( it is a wireless technology application that runs in an
integrated environment ) runs smooth:
Managed well
Fine tune as needed performance issues
Trouble shoot and fix issues brought out by testers and application
group
I am sure there are many SQL senior Admin folks that are working in or
worked in LARGE ENTERPRISES that use many technologies...that is type of
candidates we need and Raghu can screen them and talk to the ones he wants
to be submitted.

Few things that I wanted to understand -
1. It seems like what the GM wants is a SQL Server admin person who can keep
the server running. It does not look like that the person should have prior
experience with Smart Meter ORS application. Let me know if my thinking is
correct.
2. Is the GM in SCE's Infrastructure Services? If so, then the person he is
looking for is definitely a server administrator kind of person
