Subject:Storage Admin Location:Atlanta,GA Duration:6+ months CTH PLEASE EMAIL ME AT:[email protected] Job Description: Client is seeking a Storage/Linux Administrator with extensive experience working in a complex server storage and backup environment to join our Storage Team. The storage environment currently includes Hitachi, IBM, NetApp, Netbackup and ProtecTIER technologies. The operating environment includes both storage and server virtualization. The backup environment consists of Netbackup and ProtecTIER. The ideal candidate will be an innovative subject matter expert in storage, Linux and backup technologies with creative problem solving skills and be able to work well in team-oriented environment Essential functions/Duties Performed Regularly: • Serve as Subject Matter Expert on Linux, storage and backup technology implementation, daily support and monitoring of very large storage, backup, Converged systems SAN environments • Work with engineering, project management, systems and database administrators to implement storage and backup architectures that utilize industry best practices in complex virtualized environments • Monitor, analyze, and predict trends for systems, storage/fabric performance and adjust storage configurations for optimal performance and availability • Monitor, analyze, predict trends for ProtecTIER and Netbackup performance and adjust VTL and backup configurations for optimal performance and availability • Capacity planning for systems, storage and backup demand management • Follow change control protocols to implement off-hour modifications to storage, backup appliances and software, coordinating with offshore teams • Participate in incident management through a 24x7 production support on call rotation • Automate storage, backup administration, monitoring, data gathering and reporting tasks using PERL, Shell and other scripting languages • Perform monitoring of overall storage and backup environment utilizing SRM tools like SAN Screen, fabric performance tools like Virtual Instrumentsand other storage array specific tools • Escalate hardware and software issues to vendors as necessary to resolve issues in a timely manner • Ensure documentation of end to end storage and backup environment is current • Communicate with peers and management regarding storage/backup operational issues and initiatives • Provide instructions and guidance to junior global team members Desired Skills and Experience: • Expert knowledge and experience in managing Brocade SAN Fabrics and Hitachi storage arrays • Expert knowledge and experience in managing Linux systems for mission critical systems running large IO intensive work load • Subject matter expert in at least one of the following storage vendor products: Hitachi, IBM or NetApp. • Subject matter expert in Netbackup and VTL technologies • Extensive knowledge of storage implementation in highly virtualized environments • Experience in working under virtualized Linux, Windows server environments like Cisco UCS, HP and Hitachi Blade centers • Experience in scripting and working with command line utilities • Experience and willingness to support 24x7 production environment • Experience with latest backup technologies and software for example, ProtecTIER and Netbackup. • Experience with SAN fabric troubleshooting and end to end storage performance analysis • Ability to perform complex tasks in a dynamic environment • Experience in host multipathing and clustering technologies, especially Solaris and AIX • Ability to create policies, procedures and standards relating to storage and backup administration • Highly experienced in problem identification and resolution in real time • Highly skilled in post mortem root cause analysis as related to production incidents Qualifications: • BS degree in Information Technology or equivalent. • 7-10 years of experience with enterprise storage platforms with 4-5 years of experience in Linux, Hitachi, NetApp, Netbackup environments. • Expert knowledge in utilizing Hitachi storage tools like TSM, Replication Manager and Device Manager • 7-10 years of experience with enterprise Fiber Channel storage networks with 4-5 years of experience in Brocade and Linux environments • More than 10 years of combined systems, storage and backup administration experience in large production environments • Linux Systems administration and clustering experience is highly desirable • Experience in backup administration using Netbackup and ProtecTIER is highly desirable • Linux, Hitachi, Brocade, Netbackup or NetApp product certifications are highly desirable Regards, Jenny Smith- Technical Recruiter Desk No #412- 238-8594 | Email: [email protected] Fax 312.582.2699 ITBrainiac Inc. 116 Village Blvd, Suite 200 - Princeton, NJ 08540 www.itbrainiac.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP BASIS" group.
