Job Title : Business Analyst/Business System Analyst Relevant Experience (Yrs): 10-12 years IT work experience, including a minimum of 8 years as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst in Reinsurance Industry Roles & Responsibilities : Technical/Functional Skills : Very Strong knowledge in Reinsurance (P&C, L&H Lines of Business) Should have played a Business Analyst for Very strong communication, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills. Follow a well structured and holistic mode of operation. Able to get stakeholder buy-in on information needed to start, BA approach and activities needed to succeed. Proven track record of delivering BA artifacts with high quality, high customer satisfaction, on-time, on-budget and within scope. Experienced in the analysis of complex initiatives in a global environment with key stakeholders sitting co-located and remotely in different time zones. PC application knowledge. Experience with vendor selection and package implementations, especially insurance and reinsurance administration systems. SAP Knowledge is plus but not mandatory Experience Required : Minimum 8 years working experience as Business Analyst / Business System Analyst in Reinsurance Industry Roles & Responsibilities : Know what scope information is necessary to execute analysis tasks successfully. Able to augment or clarify initial project scope definition in an efficient and productive way, if needed. Plan BA work based on project scope, including selecting BA approach, negotiating/tailoring BA project deliverables, providing IT Project Manager with accurate effort estimates and agreeing on BA approach with key stakeholders. Be familiar and have experience with methods and techniques that enable you to elicit and to verify requirements like functional/non-functional user requirements and business process as-is/to-be information efficiently and with high quality. Perform requirement elicitation, process modeling/improvement and information transition effectively in a global and distributed environment. This includes the effective use of various communication media. Document and structure requirements in a clear, consistent and comprehensive manner to ensure that requirements are effectively communicated to, understood by and usable by stakeholder groups. Document detailed process models (eg. VACD, EPC) for key processes and facilitate stakeholders throughout the process of identifying and solving process challenges. Serve as intermediary between IT and lines of business to align capabilities and business needs. Support business in developing business cases for BPM projects. Set key Performance Process Indicators (PPI) and metrics in close collaboration with stakeholders and support business with selecting and implementing a monitoring solution. Be familiar with BA/BPA Governance policies and apply those policies during analysis and design. Support project team with stakeholder analysis. Manage analysis scope throughout project lifecycle. Manage BA related risks and issues proactively throughout project lifecycle. Work closely with stakeholders using the BA project deliverables, including Development team (onsite/offshore), QA, Architect and Enterprise Application Support resources. This collaboration includes transition and assistance throughout the project lifecycle. Have a sufficient technical understanding to review documents that include the translation of analysis requirements into system solution, eg. System Design specifications. Craft/review test plans and test cases ensuring appropriate coverage of required functionality. Perform ad hoc testing with a focus on complex and critical requirements. Provide IT Project Manager with status and performance updates on BA work of Identity & Access Management methodologies and technologies. Generic Managerial Skills : Good Analytical Skills Good written & oral communication PMP Certification (Preferred) Education : MBA preferred; Undergraduate or graduate degree in an Information Technology or Management Information Systems. Significant related hands-on work experience will be considered. CBAP certification (IIBA) and any other Business Analysis and/or Business Process Management related certification desirable.
