*Immediate Need SQL DBA Need EAD GC and USC* Position : SQL DBA Location : Mooresville, NC Duration : 6-12 months
Responsibilities: Install and upgrade the database server and application tools Allocate system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system Modify database structure from information given by application developers Enroll users and maintain system security Ensure compliance with database vendor license agreement Control and monitor user access to the database Monitor and optimize the performance of the database Plan for backup and recovery of database information Maintain archived data Back up and restoring databases Contact database vendor for technical support Generate various reports by querying from database Implement, maintain, and design DB2, ORACLE, IMS, SYBASE, SQL Server and other data bases in support of the development and installation of new systems and enhancements to existing systems. Use available tools and utilities to provide for necessary database maintenance activities: data base reorganizations, backup and recovery, space management, performance and tuning, and change management. Ensure that all software or systems for which they are responsible are monitored and tuned to ensure acceptable levels of performance and resource utilization, Ensure that the software is utilizing all appropriate functions and features, timely and accurate reporting on performance, utilization and feature use as requested. Providee project management regarding all technical aspects of implementing projects/major release upgrades for client’s largest, most complex and critical systems which includes: properly following a project life cycle, the development of project plans, completing all appropriate documentation and notifications in order to obtain resolution within the established timeframes. Provide technical assistance to Operations, Applications, Business Clients and the Help Desk in order to resolve production schedules or problems. Use available resources to research, resolve and recommend solutions for the most complex and critical systems. Participates in and contributes to technical discussion within their team and shares their technical expertise to others’ activities. Communicate between key IT groups and the customer community via participation in meetings and the creation of status reporting mechanisms (weekly, monthly, and quarterly). Participate in client Enterprise Wide technology projects for most complex and critical technologies.
