Duration: Minimum 6 months Rate: Open The database administration and architect should have a minimum of 5 years of Oracle database (DB) administration experience with major components of Enterprise Data Architecture. The candidate must demonstrate a core understanding of the physical database modeling, database optimization, performance monitoring and consultation. The candidate should have designed and implemented high-availability design, including multi-master replication topologies, database security design, data base standardization enforcement, backup recovery, ILM planning, integration with ITIL services. The candidate will participate in the definition, and creation of architecture artifacts associated with reference architecture, blue prints, patterns, information as services, physical data and database models, standards, technical stacks, governance, and technology obsolesce planning & management. The candidate should have performed enterprise data architecture on Oracle DB and equivalent tasks on other DBMS platforms including mySQL, MS SQL Server, Tera data, Vertica. Additionally, the candidate will need to own the logical and physical data models, enterprise data dictionary and will define Metadata. The DB consultant will need to be familiar with Business Intelligence concepts and be intimately familiar with data rules, extract rules, transformations and ETL standards. The candidate will also conform to and advice on client Data cleansing, data integrity and data quality models. The successful candidate will perform primary responsibilities personally or through matrix supervisors, contractors, sub-contractors, consultants and other project client personnel. He/she must demonstrate a successful track record supervising internal and external teams. Responsibilities: * Analyze Data Sources and systems * Interviews business and IT users to create and/or understand requirements * Communicate architecture to business and management * Participates in business development as an advisor (strategy sessions and new product feasibility/cost) * Generates documentation/presentations for client and prepares training materials as necessary * Creates functional and technical designs * Leads prototype efforts (if necessary) * Creates of implementation plan, project plans and code * Acts as data and database Subject Matter Expert (SME) * Creates and enforces database architectural standards for security, availability, replication, storage, and configuration management. * Keeps abreast of latest Oracle technologies Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science Engineering * 5+ years experience with database architecture design in the Oracle 9i/10g DB products * As DBA, performed the 24/7 support for high-availability, enterprise database administration. * Prior experience in Database performance tuning, utilization, optimization, back-up, recovery * Strong skills in project planning, execution strategy, issue escalation, and project communications as well as client relationship management. * Demonstrates the ability to status multi-phased, large team, decentralized team activities * Demonstrates high-level of written and oral communication in the English language Preferred: * Demonstrates excellent problem diagnosis and analytical skills * Demonstrates poise, confidence and professional maturity to interface with senior-level executives in a clear and concise manner * Exhibits the ability and tenacity to resolve open issues * Efficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio) * Experience managing in political environments and ability to interact with executives as well as individual contributors. * Prior technical consulting experience Willing to travel 100% and Open to Relocation.
