BI Solution Architect

State of CA - 6 months - $80/hr DOE

BI Solution Architect Minimum Experience Requirements:

-  Experience architecting and developing large enterprise data warehouse
solutions with the Microsoft BI stack
-  Expert-level understanding of the software development life cycle,
object-oriented design and relational database modeling principles,
multidimensional database design, ETL, and technical architecture
-  Experience developing Business Intelligence and Business Analytic
solutions
-  Extensive experience with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, and SQL Server '05/'08
-  Experience with data requirements gathering and analysis
-  Experience designing dimensional data models, star schemas, snowflake
schemas, and 1-3NF data models
-  Experience with multi-dimensional (OLAP) databases
-  Experience and knowledge with data management and database
administration concepts, principles, and processes
-  Project experience - two (2) to three (3) full-time equivalent (FTE)
years' experience working at a senior level on Data Warehouse or BI
projects using the Microsoft BI stack
-  Knowledge of advanced data modeling, data abstraction, and concepts

Responsibilites

The BI Solution Architect will provide expert-level guidance and hands-on
support necessary to maintain, optimize, and expand the Lottery's Business
Intelligence/Analytic platform's architecture.  This role includes the
following critical responsibilities:
-    Design, develop, implement, maintain, and optimize the Lottery's
Business Intelligence/Analytic platform's data architecture
-     Architect new databases, data warehouses, and detailed
multi-dimensional (i.e. OLAP) databases necessary to meet the Lottery's
evolving information and analytic needs
-     Develop and maintain detailed logical and physical dimensional data
models
-     Assist with architecting ETL processes
-     Assist with architecting the Lottery's Business Intelligence/Analytic
platform's technical environment
-     Assist with the design and implementation of OLAP solutions
-     Work with analysts, business staff, technical staff, and team members
to understand business processes and use this knowledge to design, develop
and implement business intelligence applications, such dashboards, reports,
analytics and other OLAP-based solutions
-     Prepare documentation, as part of a knowledge transfer process, which
will enable the Lottery's technical team to continue with the ongoing
maintenance and operations of the Business
Intelligence/Analytic solution
-     Assist in the estimation of cost and time for development
-     Assist project technical leads with issue tracking,escalation and
resolution using TFS
