Minimum Requirements: - Experience building and deploying multi-dimensional models and OLAP solutions - Expertise in MDX programming language and SQL Server data mining design - Extensive Microsoft SQL Server knowledge and experience, '08 preferred, including in-depth experience working with the entire BI stack such as the nuances of Excel Pivot Table generated MDX response streams - Advanced knowledge of multi-dimensional design concepts - MDX scripting and optimization - Database programming experience with T-SQL - Strong knowledge of Business Intelligence concepts - Experience with SSRS in creating reports using MDX and SSAS as a data source, passing parameters (MDX and regular) to drill-down reports, Working with charts/gauges and other data visualization components, deploying reports, and administering security. - Design and develop aggregate/drill-down reporting services and analysis services reports using dimensions, measures, and multi-dimensional cubes. - Project experience - one (1) to two (2) full-time equivalent (FTE) years' experience working at a senior level on Data Warehouse or BI projects using the Microsoft BI stack. The Senior OLAP and Report Developer will serve as a technical expert related to OLAP and analytical reporting. The consultant will assist Lottery staff with the design and development of OLAP cubes, writing MDX scripts, and optimizing cube processing and queries. Another key responsibility is to perform expert-level SSAS server administration and troubleshooting. This role includes the following critical responsibilities: - Develop multi-dimensional database models (SSAS), drill-down and drill-through capabilities, security/access controls and error handling - Develop KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), aggregations, perspectives, cube partitions, full and incremental cube processes - Design and develop OLAP solutions that are optimized for reporting and analytics, including PPS pages/web parts, SSRS reports, and Excel report templates connected to OLAP cubes - Write SQL and MDX queries in support of reporting and analytic solutions across the entire BI stack - Performance tune and troubleshoot queries, cube processing, and other OLAP related issues - Administer SSAS servers. Install and upgrade SSAS servers.
