Technical Writer will work with the project team to:
Document the overall system configuration and architecture.
Document procedures for uploading data to the data warehouse
Develop plans for training, testing, quality assurance, and contingency operations
In addition, the technical writer will develop user documentation which includes but is not limited to
- how to access the system
- login procedures
- comprehensive description of canned reports available within the system
- instructions on how to select and run these reports as well as how to create simple adhoc reports based on the data available in the data warehouse.
The Technical writer will work with the project team and assist in providing online help descriptions to various components of the system.
Work both independently and collaborate with development project team members.
Skills Required/Desired
Technical Writer:
- Translates technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non- technical personnel
- Develop and/or maintain the following types of documentation: system documentation; user manuals; installation guides; computer operations and program maintenance manuals; plans for training, testing, quality assurance, and contingency operations; and backup, recovery and restart procedures; technical writing for proposals, presentations, standard operating procedures (SOP), policies and procedures as well as reports- Edits functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents
Skill Level: Mid - Level: 3-5 years
- 4 years proficiency documenting IT system configurations
- 3 years documenting system architectures, procedures, and providing training guides and manuals for web- based architectures and systems.
- 1 year documenting systems written in.NET, ASP
- 1 year working with or documenting IIS systems
- 1 year working with or documenting systems developed in HTML 5
- 1 year documenting procedures developed around SQL Query language
- 1 year working with or documenting CSS
- 1 year working with or documenting web services that include _javascript_ components
- 1 year experience with Microsoft Project
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science |
