• Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Responsible for the health of the BI environment
• Manage the security of the BI environment
• Monitor all scheduled jobs (including reports for business users, ETL jobs, and etc.)
• Version control for all objects in the BI environment
• Set standard and architecture of the meta data lay7er
• Design and architect the BI environment, and any subsequent growth
• Install, configure, upgrade and patching services on BI environments
• Provide performance monitoring and tune services on BI server platforms
• Ensuring stability given large, uneven requests of BI environment for reporting and adhoc analysis
• Set up and manage multiple environments for application and report development, testing, training and production
• Set up and manage domain groups/access rights (Name spaces) for BI platform users
• Follow change management process and procedures to perform production migrations from test and other environments
• Document installation steps, environments custom configurations, production system changes and technical architecture platforms
• Assist developers with test planning, test conditions and obtaining test data
• Support Cognos reports, cubes migrate to different environments.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support and draft required documentation for incident responses and service request submissions
• Perform in-depth and comprehensive system, application and user-object troubleshooting – coordinating with users, other department personnel, vendors and service technicians
• Ability to work with remote team
Skills Required:
• Highly self-motivated individual
• Experience with designing and developing standard reporting and ad-hoc reporting environments
• Experience in architecting BI solution
• Experience with major IBM-COGNOS version upgrade within the last four (4) years
• Experience of installing, configuring and maintaining COGNOS environments for development, test and production; and administering, installing and trouble shooting
• Experience in Scripting (java, Peral, etc)
• Experience of BI system, Cognos, Informatica, Insight, SSIS, SSRS, MicroStrategy, SAS, etc.
• Knowledge of ETL process
• Knowledge Data Warehouse design and architecture
• Must have worked within a development on Suse-Linux platform, utilizing Oracle Database as sources
• Experience in deploying and designing a scalable BI solution utilizing all product components including reporting studio, etc.
• Be able to creating best practices in monitoring and configuring COGNOS in an Enterprise scale solution
• Experience with designing and deploying robust, scalable and dynamic Enterprise-Wide Framework Manager Meta data models with distributed deployment sources. In-depth understanding of all Cognos product Configuration options for Development, QA, Production and DR setup. Includes detailed understanding all Cognos Security options.
• Strong experience in SQL Server – store procedure and SSIS Provide solutions to a wide range of difficult technology problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives.
• Knowledge of MS SQL is a big plus Knowledge of MySQL is a big plus
