| Duties & Responsibilites : | - Develop high quality J2EE applications and components for various business units.
- Develop and unit test source code as part of a functional team.
- Work and manage bug lists and tasks as assigned
- Optimize and tune newly developed and preexisting code
- Manage source control for your project level work (CVS).
- Thoroughly document code and use cases
- Identify areas of code which need improvement and push to the project list for refactoring and optimization.
- Troubleshooting critical production issues as needed after escalation from the Application Support team.
- Track individual progress on assigned project work, providing concise overall status reports.
- Work with other team members to drive technical requirement documentation.
Communicate with and mentor others to enhance IT's ability to effectively develop J2EE systems.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years development experience in a J2EE 1.4+ environment.
- 3+ years’ experience working in an enterprise scale system.
- Educational background in Computer Science and/or Computer Engineering
- Overall familiarity and experience with Object Oriented design and programming concepts
- Proficiency in XML and XSL
Fundamental understanding of SQL (Oracle preferred)
- Self-motivated, ambitious, willing to effect change and drive the J2EE development to new levels of functionality and performance.• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills.
- Must be able to work with a team; must be able to work individually.
- Comfortable multitasking and managing priorities
Ability to work with a range of people with both technical and non-technical backgrounds.
- Positive attitude, execution focused
- Strategic thinking ability needs to plan for the future needs of the business.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· UNIX/Linux skills
· WebSphere Application Server experience
· MQ, JMS, or other internal messaging experience
· Knowledge of the Spring Framework
· Use of Hibernate, iBatis or other Java ORM persistence solution
· Experience with workflow /BPM technologies
· Familiar with Web Services and other SOA enablers.
