*Location: **Richardson, TX* *Duration: 6+ Months * *Interview: Phone * *Start Date: ASAP* *Job Description:* · This opportunity is for a LAN Switching Network Support Engineer (CSE) position located in Raleigh, NC. · The importance are troubleshooting based off of the OSI model, Nexus, cisco 6500 within a support role · Responsibilities: · Provides remote network consultation to independently debug complex network problems within LAN/WAN and Datacenter environments with a focus on Layer 2 switching · Acts as a focal point for large account network problem resolution including design, configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Catalyst switches 6500, VSS, Nexus 7k, Spanning Tree, VLANs, LACP, PAGP, and VPC · Provides support on a world-wide basis to all HTTS customers. · Provide systems/product training to peers within the HTTS team. · Acts as a technical expert and is a go-to resource for the team. · Works independently, receiving minimal supervision, with no instruction on routine work and general instruction on new assignments. · Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors. · Applies known solutions to solve problems. *Requirements*: · Typically requires BS in CS, EE, or equivalent plus 3-5 years related experience. · Ability to analyze, use and configure medium to large networks · *Minimum 3+ years of LAN experience with specific expertise sought in configuration and troubleshooting of Catalyst 6500 and other Cisco legacy LAN Switching platforms. * · Knowledge with Nexus OS and N7K is required. · Clear understanding of ISO's OSI model and TCP/IP protocol suite. · Understanding of Layer2 protocols and ability to think solutions to difficult problems arising on a day to day in real world implementations.--In depth protocol knowledge of different spanning-tree implementations and hands on experience solving network outages.--Debugging experience on resolving issues related to FHRP, ARP/MAC, Unicast flooding, Multicast(IGMP, PM), QOS(Queueing and scheduling algorithms viz.., WRR, LLQ, RED, WRED) , PVLAN, Etherchannel, Trunking -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "American Vendor--IT Consulting" group.
