| Duties & Responsibilites : | - Deliver Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence capabilities to the business using the Microsoft BI platform
- Model data in the ODS, Data Warehouse and tabular model
- Identify and resolve inefficiencies and gaps in existing Business Intelligence solutions
- Define metrics and calculations along with the corresponding updates to the semantic layer
- Design and develop ETL processes using Informatica
- Work with the business community to identify, analyze and document BI needs
- Design and develop reports and dashboards for various business units
- Assist in the definition of Business Intelligence strategy within the IT department
- Provide technical guidance to Business Intelligence developers to include design reviews, code reviews and training
- Work in a team environment and collaborate with peers and users through all phases of the software development lifecycle.
- Test all code and programs prior to releasing to the quality assurance process; quickly resolve all issues identified in the testing process
- Maintain up-to-date business domain knowledge and technical skills in Business Intelligence technologies and methodologies
- Create and maintain documentation for Business Intelligence processes and procedures Specific
Skill or Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrated expertise in Data Warehousing, ETL, data modeling and reporting
- 5+ years Business Intelligence development experience
- Data Warehouse logical and physical design skills
- Knowledge of IT testing practices
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly and independently
- A passion for continuous learning and staying informed of the latest trends and technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field of study
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence tools, specifically Analysis Services and Reporting Services
- Experience using the SQL Server database platform
- Ability to use Visual Studio as a development tool
- SharePoint skills and ability to build and deploy solutions to SharePoint
- Big Data experience using Hadoop or a related technology
- Property/Casualty insurance domain experience.
