*Duties*
Incumbent works in the Client’s Office, performing the work of an IBM
WebSphere 8.x/BPM 8.x/Portal Application Server Administrator for the
Indiana Support Enforcement Tracking System (ISETS). Incumbent reports to
an Admin. Lead or higher level staff.
*Representative duties include*
· Analyze all system upgrades and applications, and ensure compliance to
all program requirements and design all solutions for portal, and assist to
resolve all production issues.
· Monitor and analyze all system metrics and maintain optimal performance
for all portals and servers; maintain status for all portal projects; and
assist to resolve all issues for new and existing channels; integrate new
technology system into portal and coordinate with other administrators.
· Perform tests on all configurations, new releases and upgrade
processes; and achieve all CSB-IT objectives; document and maintain
knowledge on new technology for all portal and server environments.
· Responsible for ensuring WebSphere 8.x/BPM 8.x/Portal Application
Server tools meet with the overall operating structure; may include
sophisticated file maintenance routines, telecommunications networks, and
computer accounting.
· Develops relationships with the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT)
staff to coordinate hardware, software, and technology issues and plans;
· Responsible for testing, debugging, and documentation of system
software upgrades and new releases, also may include some program design
and system enhancements;
· Provide end user support for related applications and systems;
· Elicit IBM maintenance assistance for issues or to update software;
· Evaluates new and existing software products that may complement the
existing suite;
· Confers with department management to assist in planning, organizing,
and controlling activities of assigned area;
· May oversee and work on multiple projects or project phases
simultaneously;
· Defines system software and hardware requirements;
· Mentors and provides guidance to new and lower level staff;
· Performs other related duties as required.
Job Requirements
· Advanced knowledge and experience of installation, maintenance, and
configuration of IBM WebSphere 8.x/BPM 8.x/Portal Application Server
products and system operating systems (trouble shooting skills);
· Advanced knowledge to design, test, debug, and document IBM WebSphere
8.x/BPM 8.x/Portal Application Server components;
· Advanced knowledge to administer IBM WebSphere 8.x/BPM 8.x/Portal
Application Server components;
· Working knowledge of IBM AIX 7.1 and Windows 2012 Server;
· Thorough knowledge in information technology equipment, operation, and
capabilities;
· Thorough knowledge in the use of tools, WAS scripting, and utilities to
perform the system work;
· Thorough knowledge in performance and tuning techniques;
· Ability to establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship
with others;
· Ability to develop and execute system backup and recovery procedures
and plans;
· Ability to work with other information technology support staff to
understand software requirements;
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
*Description of Duties:*
- Responsible for activities related to system administration of
Portal/Websphere/ BPM Application Servers. (25% of the time)
- Responsible for ensuring Portal/WebSphere/BPM Application Server tools
meeting with the overall operating structure (may include sophisticated
file maintenance routine, telecommunications network, and computer
accounting). (25% of the time)
- Responsible for quality assurance review of the Portal/WebSphere/BPM
Application Server software. (25% of the time)
- Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and
administration (may include the overall systems planning). (25% of the time)
*Skillset Requested:*
- AIX 7.1 (Intermediate) – 5 years of experience
- Windows 2012 Server (Intermediate) – 5 years of experience
- Websphere 8.x (Advanced) – 5 years of experience
- BPM 8.5.x (Advanced) – 5 years of experience
- DB2 (Intermediate) – 5 years of experience
- SQL Server (Intermediate) – 5 years of experience
