Job Description

Context/Scope of Position:

The Engineering System Administration (ESA) team is responsible for
developing and maintaining the worldwide infrastructure. This group is
directly responsible for operating system configuration, virtualization,
tools and application integration with back-end directory services, and
other traditional system administration processes (excluding Help Desk,
Networking, Storage and Datacenter Operations).

*The ideal candidate is a configuration management specialist* who is a
self-starter, a team player  and fits in with our creative technical
culture.



Job Responsibilities:

·         Efficiently troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions and/or
alternatives, and perform or coordinate resolution.

·         Perform operational processes and procedures with a mindset
towards automation.

·         Exercise strong communication skills both verbally and through
documentation in a multitude of areas including meetings, ticket/project
updates, and change management.

·         Provide solutions using a hybrid of third-party offerings and
internally developed technologies.



Required Qualifications:

·         Linux system administration in a large (500+ system) environment

·         Proficient with Puppet / Chef in an “infrastructure-as-code”
environment

·         Proficient in supporting/troubleshooting Linux provisioning
(DHCP, PXE/TFTP, Kickstart, etc.)

·         Proficient with a large scale ticketing system (JIRA / Remedy /
ServiceNow, etc.)

·         Familiar with integrating with Directory Services (LDAP)

·         Proficient in scripting using BASH, and familiarity in an
additional language

·         Experience with virtualization (Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization
Manager / VMWare / KVM)

·         Familiarity with OpenShift

·         Familiarity with OpenStack

·         Experience with Batch Queuing Systems (MRG / LSF)

·         Proficient with scripting in Ruby and/or Python

·         Familiarity with authoring Linux packages
