I saw a promo on Fox for this and the tag line was "find out the truth behind arranged marriages" in a somewhat terse voice. Its wait and see what the show is like, but it looked like it was going to be a scare piece.

Thought this might be of interest to some of you who watch tv and like to discuss the topic of arranged marriage...on TONIGHT.
Hamdard Center For Health and Human Services Executive Director Dr. Farzana Hamid recently gave an interview for a Fox News Story entitled "Understanding Arranged Marriages" which is being promoted on variety of televison and radio channels and will air on Fox News tonight sometime between 9:00 -10:00 P.M C.D.S.T.
This interview was given to combat the notion that arranged marriages result in abuse. The fact is that there is no supporting data or evidence that shows any differences between arranged marriages and other types of marriage. Hamdard Center felt that it important to express this perspective and state that among American Muslims, arranged marriages in today's society are not common place and are becoming quite rare.
Unfortunately we do not know how Fox will present this story, but it is important that a voice of truth and experience was at least heard.
Hamdard Center is a, not-for-profit, Multi-cultural Multi-lingual Social Service Agency Dedicated to Serving the South Asian, Middle Eastern, and Bosnian Communities in Illinois. Our Mission is to Promote Hope, Help, and Healing.
