Call for Participation-Feminist Art Exhibition

JURIED ART EXHIBITION - CALL FOR ENTRIES:
'Women in the Middle: Borders, Barriers and
Intersections,? an exhibit
of contemporary feminist art held in conjunction with
National Women's
Studies Association?s 25th annual conference,
Milwaukee, WI.
The theme of the exhibition and the conference is
intended to reflect
the many ways that women may find themselves caught in
the middle -
politically, physically, culturally, and
experientially. We invite
artists to submit proposals to share their art on the
range of subjects
that recognize the complexity of women's experiences,
past, present and
future. We will welcome art submissions that explore
collaboration, and
connectivity, particularly across barriers that have
proved significant
in feminism's past, such as those of race, ethnicity,
nationality,
class, age, ability, sexual identity, and religion
All media, except live performance and video.
Physical Exhibition of juried works postmarked by
06/03/04 -07/10/04 at
Walker?s Point Center for the Arts & UW-Milwaukee
Union Art Gallery,
plus Electronic Exhibition of slides at the NWSA
conference of all art
submitted. Jurors are Gail Tremblay, Flo Oy Wong,
Clarissa Sligh, Tey
Marianna Nunn, and Helen Klebesadel:
$10 fee for up to 6 slides by 02/15/04.
