Survey for H-1B and H-4 visa holders
I am currently writing a book on the H visa and am surveying and
interviewing those who have the H-1B visa and the H-4 visa (the
"dependent spouse visa" for the H-1B visa). I am compiling demographic
information and personal stories of those on one of these two visas. I
have found a profound lack of information on this most important
population to the U.S. economy and think it is important to share some
of the experiences and problems with the current laws. If you are
qualified and are willing to help me, please email me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] I can email the survey or mail it to you with a
self addressed stamped envelope for you to send it back to me.
Survey Participants
To participate, a person must
a. currently hold H-1B status or have been on an H-1B in the past; or
b. currently hold H-4 status or have been on an H-4 in the past.
Please pass this email onto those whom you know currently have and those
who formerly had the H-1B or the H-4 visa.
Future Interview
At the end the survey asks if you would be willing to give an interview
as well. The interview can be conducted in person or over the phone.
Translation / Interpretation
For those who are not comfortable reading or writing in English, I will,
to the extent possible, arrange for a translator or interpreter.
Confidentiality
I guarantee 100% confidentiality. The surveys will be seen only by
myself and my research assistants. No identifying information will be
used without written permission. All names will be changed unless
otherwise agreed to in writing. We will not release such information to
outsiders or even to those who may know you.
You may also fill out the form under a pseudonym (false name) if you
prefer. If you choose to do so, please use that same false name when
communicating with me. If you have any other special concerns, please
feel free to contact me.
About Myself:
I attended Columbia University for my undergraduate degree and Duke
University for my degree in law and in women's studies. I currently
practice in NY and have been an advocate of immigrants for many years.
