The problem with treating Ms. Romila's work as "Coffee time read" doesn't justify her effort. She is a political activist, not just a distinguished Historian, who has made every effort to wrong, in the past and the present, a political party and its leaders.
I certainly appreciate the presentation of her work in this list, but just her's or of her ilk ?
That certainly won't bode well for any intellectual group.
Speaking for myself, I am just trying to make a critical look at Ms. Romila's intentions and motivations, which happen to be well advertised!

Folks, maybe people on this list are open to reading about Ms. Romila Thapar's research and do not interpret it as justifying any type of destruction.
I see the book as bringing new analytical approaches in the examination of an event in India's history as well as discussing the interpretation of the event by earlier historians and existing political parties.
That this is interpreted as a double standard and WWII analogies are brought into the discussion is a bit puzzling.
