In honor of Earth Day, South Asian Progressive Action Collective and Voices in the 
Wilderness present an evening dedicated to the industrial disaster in Bhopal on the 
Friday, April 23rd at 6:30 p.m. at Stone Soup Cooperative, 4637 N. Ashland. 
 
Ryan Bodyani, the student coordinator of the International Campaign for Justice in 
Bhopal (ICJB), will be speaking at the event and screening 'Hunting Warren Anderson'.  
Warren Anderson was the CEO of Union Carbide at the time of this terrible accident.  
 
2004 marks the twentieth anniversary of the industrial disaster that took place in 
Bhopal in December 1984 and here are some devastating statistics:
 
�         MIC Gas leaked out of the Union Carbide Plant leaving 
o        500,000 people affected
8,000 dead on the first day 
20,000 dead to date 
120,000 suffering from severe illnesses like blindness, birth defects, breathing 
difficulties etc. 
�         Bhopal toxic tragedy continues with
o        20,000 Bhopal residents drink water contaminated by reckless dumping of 
chemical wastes by Union Carbide
300 Million dollars of the 470 Million dollar compensation money is yet to be 
distributed by the Indian Government 
Dow-Carbide continuing to refuse to give the composition of MIC guarding it as a trade 
secret thus hampering treatment
