*POSITION SUMMARY: *This position is responsible for interfacing with
internal customers to analyze business requirements and to design and
develop enterprise reporting structures and solutions. This person will
design, create, manage, and fulfill requests for reports and information.
The Report Writer Analyst II uses their knowledge of report writing tools
such as Cognos and SQL Query Analyzer to develop reports and deliver data
to users. The Report Writer Analyst II will also complete functional
testing and prepare required documents necessary to comply with out
Standard Development Methodology.  This person will also work directly with
our end user community to provide ongoing support and maintenance of
reporting solutions.

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *

* *

·              Model ethical behavior and execute job responsibilities in
accordance with Citizens core value and ethics policies.

·              Perform data analysis and report development activities for
Enterprise Information Management Team.

·              Analyze source system data to understand the data structure,
definitions and anomalies.

·              Interact with customer as needed to better define and
understand reporting requirements.

·              Interact with other technical team members to establish
reporting requirements and participate in design reviews with the technical
team.

·              Perform daily Cognos query and report writing development
activities when requested.

·              Ability to program in SQL to perform the data query,
reporting and functional testing.

·              Prepare Report Design Documents, Test Plans and Production
Checklists in a clear and concise manner as part of the standard document
process.

·              Support end-users on the data warehouse query and the use of
the reporting tools and BI applications.

·              Prepare Technical Design Documents, Test Plans and
Production Checklists in a clear and concise manner as part of the standard
document process.

·              Participate in the maintenance and upkeep of our standard
reporting documentation and documented dependencies.

·              May perform Cognos Administrator functions, such as
production deployments of reports, packages and cubes, user security,
report scheduling, troubleshooting and testing.

*REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: *

* *

·              Strong working knowledge of COGNOS business intelligence
products including Framework Manager, Analysis Studio, Report Studio, Query
Studio, Dashboards  and Cognos BI Version 8 or equivalent Business
Intelligence tools.

·              Demonstrated skill using database tools such as Microsoft
Access, SQL Server Management Studio or Advanced Query Tool.

·              Demonstrated skill developing SQL.

·              Strong data analysis and report writing skills.

·              Relational and Star Schema / Dimensional database modeling
and design skills.

·              Ability to be flexible and work within a team environment.

·              Ability to effectively communicate in non-technical terms
with business analysts and end users for information and reporting delivery
solutions.

·              Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook



*REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: *

* *

·         Bachelor's Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field OR 4
years of relevant experience OR a combination of college education and
relevant experience can substitute for the degree.

·         Three years of experience in each area listed (These years of
experience can overlap):

o   Three years of development utilizing the Cognos Business Intelligence
tool or equivalent business intelligence tool such as Crystal Reports or
Business Objects.

o   Three years experience with SQL Development and Report Writing.

o   Three years experience with Microsoft SQL Server, DB2, Oracle or a
comparable relational database.

·         Data warehouse experience



*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:*

* *

·         Four years experience with analysis and development utilizing the
Cognos Business Intelligence tool or an equivalent Business Intelligence
tool such as Crystal Reports or Business Objects.

·         Four years experience with SQL development and report writing.

·         Experience with Star Schemas and Dimensional Modeling.

·         Cognos Administration knowledge and skills.

·         Property and Casualty insurance experience

*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  *

* *

·         This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of
time, hear and converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a
computer (4 or more hours per day).
·         This position is required to work from local Citizens offices
located in Tallahassee, Florida, with occasional travel to remote offices
and other business related locations.
