This includes assisting PaaS team to implement industry best practices in implementation of VMware VCloud App Director. 2.2 Summary of Responsibilities 1. Understand and assess Asurion application, environment and technology landscape 2. Use the data to quickly build/add/modify VMware VCloud App Director based application and component catalogues 3. Implement industry VMware VCloud App Director best practices in provisioning of application on virtualized/cloud environments 4. Leverage some of existing scripts, application blueprints in developing VMware VCloud App Director implementation strategy 5. Define and implement integration strategies for VMware VCloud App Director with other VMware VCloud Suite and other tools such as VSphere 6. Using the VMware VCloud App Director to build provisioning workflows and plans, templates and deployment automation scripts (reusing some of the existing scripts, templates) 7. Developing a monitoring, infrastructure and environment configuration management strategy for applications using VMware VCloud App Director 2.3 Essential Job Functions • Strong ability to see the 'big picture' and able to implement strategies that align tasks/people/requirements for success in meeting the Business/IT goals • Effectively manages day to day activities across multiple tracks. • Maintains a manner of leadership and flexibility that diffuses pressure and promotes a positive team atmosphere. • Provide training and mentoring to team members. • Provides the App Director strategy for the creation of processes and procedures with input from business teams, development, and IT Support. • Maintains expertise in the application and use of systems, tools, and processes within the scope • Maintains a working knowledge of Asurion's applications and system integration and is able to understand changes in order to anticipate cross-system or cross-process impacts. • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with Clients and other Asurion departments by representing the department as a respected ambassador. • Escalates issues to the Sr. Director in a timely and appropriate manner. • Ensures the appropriate documentation and adherence to departmental processes and procedures. • Ensures the appropriate adherence to Asurion’s inter-departmental processes and procedures within the PaaS team. • Ensures the representation of the department at appropriate intra-departmental meetings. Acts as delegate for the Sr. Director in their absence. • Encourages an open, learning, and progressive environment to allow the team's exploration of new Enterprises. • Effectively communicates the feasibility of requested deliverables and timelines to internal Business and Project Stakeholders. • Ability to socialize and generate consensus for new ideas and to overcome resistance • Monitors data security. • Responsible to ensure that industry best practices are applied to VMware VCloud App Director.
