Hello
SAP DB TEAM,
I have installed SAP DB 7.3 on windows 2000.
I have my products developed in Borland Delphi 4.
I connected and converted my s/ws to sapdb on
win'2000 and on remote PCs. It is just like oracle
but the speed of posting & dataretrieval is good.
it is giving about 120 records per second posting
speed.
I am now worried only about the backup and restore
I have already worked with the backup option and it is
very very easy when compared to oracle. The only
problem is with restore. I am unable to find out how
to restore the data that is taken backup. I issued
the command given in the help .pdf files.
dbmcli -d raildata -u dbm,dbm
recover_start completeT
but it is giving media not found error.
My aim/need is as follows :
I am having huge database with about 50 records per
second inputting ( very large data Isn't it? ) working
24hrs and 7 days a week.
Earlier i used interbase ( database with delphi ) and
found difficulty with backup/restore options.
Later converted to oracle. But the same problem
existed. Now i came to know from one of my friend in
Canada about sapdb. I have filled the database of about
50 mb. Later i took backup ( complete ) using the data
manager. After that i have deleted the data. NOW IF
I WANT TO SEE THE OLD DATA ( which i earlier took
backup ) how can i do it without disturbing the online
posting work going on.
I want to know clearly how can i see the old data
which is already taken backup. Also it will be helpfull
if you can help me in finding the architecture of the
SAP DB.
The material given in the website is not suffecient.
in the dbmcli commands list there are only commands
but no syntaxes and examples.
Please inform me if u have more about
backup / restore or any thing about the architecture
to the sap ( which is not given in help of sapdb ).
Expecting an earlier mail.
with regards,
