Cannot install and use sapdb

hi list,
i have tried installing sapdb on a win2k machine but i got this on the log file

and i cant find out how to uninstall it so i could do a re-install. reinstalling find the previous version and while documentation provides a reference to a sdbuninst.exe, it is not included in the server package which only includes the following files
INSAPDB
SAPDBDEP.TGZ
SAPDBIND.TGZ
SDBINST.exe
perl.dll

come to think of it, the installation docu in http://sapdb.org/htmhelp/0c/5e3a3c00b96951e10000000a11405a/content.htm mentions a different set of files (or is this just for 7.4?). the installation guide also mentions installing something in PCR and the Database kernel which i havent done in the previous install. btw, the previous install just died so i dont know what went wrong except for the entries in the log file.

whats funny is that a colleague was able to install the same package at his pc which is an exact duplicate of mine. this is the reason why i want to do a reinstall because this might make it work. now if only i could uninstall it...
