Hello Stphane,

>For my Content Server (on Windows 2000)
>I should install a backup solution.

As SAP customer you should open a OSS message if you encounter any problems with SAP
problems.

>The file "C:\Program Files\nsr\bin\" is missing or unreadable.

If you really had that error message, please open a OSS message, as "file" and
"C:\Program Files\nsr\bin\" are not a perfect match. Make sure you keep a copy of a
dbm.ebp file containing such a message for further analysis.

>1) How should I configure a pipe?

Create a backup medium of type PIPE with the DBMGUI.

>'\\.\pipe\<pipe_name>' Is the name of the pipe important?

You should choose a name which is A) not used by other programs (especially other SAP
DB's backed up with NetWorker too), B) easy to memorize (because with NetWorker
recoveries must use exactly the same pipe as backups).

>(I don't understand how a pipe is working with
> my Legato Server)

NetWorkers save command opens the pipe on the database machine, reads the backup data
and transfers it to the NetWorker Server.

>2) How should be named the configuration file of the
>Networker and where I should save it?

As you like. You can also use the default "C:\Program Files\nsr\sapdb\env"

>3) To be able to make a backup with Legato Networker, do
>I need additional Software?

Just make sure that the NetWorker programs save, recover and mminfo are installed.

>If somebody has a better understandable documentation I'll be interested.

Do you have any suggestions for improving http://www.sapdb.org/pdf/sichwiederheng.pdf
or OSS note 53069?

Best Regards,
Tilo Heinrich
