> yes SAP DB currently develops a WebDAV interface for SAP DB.

One question: Why?
Allow me to expand on that: Why, in Gods name, why?!

Good question.
I read that today in a german magazine called "c't" and i can't think of any use for that!

Let me explain:
- If the files are stored in a database, which server is supposed to serve them?
- It will be hard to get SAPDB's WebDAV stuff to work with Jakarta-Tomcat, PHP or such stuff.

Is there any actual use for this feature?
I can't think of any. But it would be great to hear of any.

The most WebDAV-Implementation only think of WebDAV as a FTP-Replacement. That's not enough. I would like ACLs, Version history etc. (something like "CVS for web-pages")

Why would you want to develop this rather than use one of the debugged
and working implementations, like: http://www.webdav.org/mod_dav/ ?
Hmmm ... why use WebDAV at all? but that's not the correct list for that :-)
