This problem was solved in SAP DB 7.4.4 Build 0. Though, you could have a look into the new archive_stage-commands implemented in SAP DB 7.3.0 Build 029, 7.4.3 Build 005 and 7.4.4 Build 000. These can be used to archive log backups created by AutoLog to backup tools.
