We recently started using SAPDB for a project. One great benefit was that there is an AIX version which we needed.
The biggest downside we've come across so far is the documentation. There is a lot of HTML and PDF files, but in my opinion, it's very close to useless. It all seems very disorganized and the PDF files are just pretty much the HTML files in a book format. I would love if there were some 3rd party book out there on SAPDB.
