Hello,

I'm a new SAP DB users after using Postgres for a while. So excuse me if I
ask some blatantly stupid questions in this mailing list.

I have been trying to solve this really annoying issue, and I couldn't find
right the solution for it. I've search the archive mailing list and Google
but none to avail. Basically I have been getting this "Connection down,
session released" errors everytime I'm trying to get create a connection to a
database. A snippet of the stack trace dump is as follow:

13:48:25.478 INFO  [main] - Initializing Connector: nuix-connector
com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.JDBCDriverException: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot
connect to jdbc:sapdb://jaws-1000/mydb [Connection down, session released].
        at com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.DriverSapDB.connect(DriverSapDB.java:193)
        at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:537)
        at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:187)
        at com.nuix.sql.DataSourceManager.<init>(DataSourceManager.java:233)
        at
com.nuix.uploader.NuixSmeMboxReader.<init>(NuixSmeMboxReader.java:195)
<snip ....>

Now the code inside DataSourceManager is simply like this:

try {
    Class.forName(driver);
     this.connection = DriverManager.getConnection(url, user, password);
}

That's it!

I probably should mention that I'm running this in Avalon framework. I wonder
if anyone has came across similar issues in Avalon (or anything at all).

Any help will be much appreciated.

Cheers,
