Hi,

I'm currently looking into appropriate database for an application we are developing.
I ws wondering if you could advise me on whether SAPdb would be an appropriate backend?

Initially, I would have though of SAPdb as a bit over the top for what we need but
I've seen some articles that suggest it might be OK.

The db will be a backend for a simple system - it'll only ever need a handful of user
connections at one time and for most periods it'll effectively have only two
connections. The throughput won't be that great- certainly nothing to stress any
modern database system.

There are a few environments it'll be used in. Often an installation on a Linux box
with the client apps on networked Windows machines. But a good number of installations
are invisaged as living on the same Windows box as the application itself -
effectively the sort of application where JET or dbase is often used.

I know this application is well below the target SAPdb market but would it be a
suitable tool? Can it work in a standard IDE desktop environment or would we best
stick with something like JET, MySQL or Firebird/Borland?
