Hi,

I'm new to SAPdb and I have no idea if my questions have been answered
before, sorry in advance if it has been. In that case hopefully some one can
redirect me to the information.

For various reasons I'm interested to be able to support SAPdb (as major
database) for our (Java-Web) software.
Currently we are supporting MS-SQLserver only and I'm investigating if a
migration is possible and how much effort it will take. My major concerns
are the stored procedures, database views, triggers and user functions. I'm
familiar with a number of databases including Oracle, DB2, Ingress and
Sybase.

My questions:
1. Does SAPdb support the same kind of functionality (program language
wise) as available in SQLServer?
2. What are typical pitt-falls on writing SAPdb code (I read about cursor
type problem in this group too)?
3. When I was porting the tables & views SAPdb was complaining about a
view-definition that was to big, so there is a limit. What is that limit?
4. Is migration to SAPdb possible understanding that it is not possible
to port to MySql?

I welcome any information (links?) on the questions.

Thank you kindly in advance,
Frank Brouwer
