Hi Thomas, I saw your post and was wondering if I could ask you a question about the C/C++ precompiler package on Windows? Currently the only supported compiler for Windows is Microsoft MSVC. As I'm sure you are aware this compiler is unlikely to be enhanced any further by Microsoft (they have .NET now) and is very expensive (especially for an Open Source product like SapDB).
So I was wondering what the likelyhood was of the precompiler being modified to support GNU C/C++ on Windows platforms? GCC is available in a native form as part of MinGW (www.mingw.org) or via Cygwin (www.cygwin.com). Since GCC is free and continually being enhanced its a better fit for SapDB and the precompiler. It would also have the advantage of drawing the Linux and Windows versions closer together. What do you think? Apologies in advance if you are not the best person to answer this. Please forward it to the relevant person if you are not. Thanks David. -----Original Message----- From: Simenec, Thomas [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 11 March 2003 08:49 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Cc: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: Precompiler C/C++ Hi, there is now a C/C++ Precompiler package 7.4.3 for Windows available.
