Did you check the reference manual (7.4)--> basis element --> function
--> special function to find CASE
resp.
--> string function to find SUBSTR ( I think this is what you are looking for, although
I do not understand how a number can have a 'F' in the beginning, perhaps just
a naming problem)

BTW: please be a little bit more precise in the subject.
