I find it funny, e.g. to be happy about the sapdb soundex function and on the 
other hand not to mention that postgresql can use regular expressions within 
queries. And so there are many other points in this article that don't meet 
the standards c't usually had.

sapdb is fine, really. It is only hard to make the first steps.

are you sure firebird is a database?
the last time I looked at it I found it very incomplete.
