Are there any statement from the developer about that?

I'm only an active user, but I've been using SAP DB in a production environment for a couple of years and it beats every other Free database I've tried and most of the non-free ones too.

I've never had any issues with sapdb that couldn't be solved by reading the documentation or asking on this list (well other than getting Perl support working which took a while to get right).

I've used Interbase for many years before switching to sapdb and I've found it to be a cute little database that is really easy (entire database in one file) and fast to work with as an embedded database, it doesn't quite measure up as a multiuser database though. I've seen IB blow up in interesting ways under multiuser load.

I've worked for years on getting good Perl support on IB, but I never got there before getting sick of the whole thing and dumping it for SAP DB.

I searching a open source database I can easy use in production environment.

sapdb is very easy to use, but it can be very, very hard to set up.

Once you have you database created and your backup procedures worked out it is rock solid and will give you exelent performance.
