Below is my question and MySQL's response about the JDBC interface. As long
as terms for the new MySAPDB stay somewhat inline (adjusted for inflation of
course) then we will all be very well off.

Hi Kevin,

The driver is included in the server license.  Each server license
allows for unlimited client connections.  So when you purchase a server
license you will have the JDBC driver and unlimited client connections.
