Also a little bit more information: I tested again this morning, and started the test by stopping the database and deleting the whole database data directory (D:\Program Files\sapdb\indep_data\wrk\MYDB). I then did an Instance->Install->Install from Medium->Install for Recovery I then did a recovery using the same steps as I suggested in my last mail. The only difference was, that after Recovering from the Parallel device the "Ignore" icon was NOT greyed out, and I was able to click that and ignore the request for more media. The database came up correctly. I tried it again without deleting the whole MYDB directory, and I had the same problem as before - the "Ignore" icon IS greyed out, and thus the restore from a parallel device does not work correctly. The DBMgui keeps asking for more media....... Thanks, Guy
