I have been struggling to install SAPDB 7.3.0.34 on RedHat 9. It is partially installed.
Seems that SAPDB 7.4 for Linux is out of beta (is that true?). Since I have not got a functional 7.3 installation yet, should I somehow remove SAPDB 7.3, and install 7.4? The SAPDB site (http://www.sapdb. org/7.4/sap_db_linux.htm) says 7.4 is tested on SuSE 7.3; does that mean that attempting to install 7.4 on RedHat 9 is a risky proposition? I discovered that the 7.3 rpm distribution appears to provide a better installation than running the script from the tgz. I want to remove the existing 7.3 installation and start again, with either 7.3 or 7.4. What is the best way to remove my 7.3 installation? Is it as simple as stopping the SAPDB services and then deleting everything in /var/opt/sapdb and /opt/sapdb? Is there a reliable script that can do this for me? $ ps -ef|grep sap mslinn 5174 1 0 Jul30 ? 00:00:00 /opt/sapdb/indep_prog/pgm/niserver mslinn 5175 1 0 Jul30 ? 00:00:00 /opt/sapdb/indep_prog/pgm/vserver start sapdb 7041 1 0 Jul30 ? 00:00:00 /opt/sapdb/depend/pgm/kernel ZAMPLES sapdb 7043 7041 0 Jul30 ? 00:00:00 /opt/sapdb/depend/pgm/kernel ZAMPLES Mike _______________________________________________ sapdb.general mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listserv.sap.com/mailman/listinfo/sapdb.general
