Perhaps you could look at modifying the template, wrapping the output in
something like:
{% ifnotequal product.items_in_stock 0 %}
{% endifnotequal %}I believe that items_in_stock defaults to 0 ... you may have to try wrapping the 0 in quotes if that doesn't work right away for you.
