Python's SSL library http://pypi.python.org/pypi/ssl/ that is the default in
Python 2.6 and available at the link for 2.3, 2.4, and 2.5 supports SSL3/TLS
1.0.  It uses openssl and works very well.  I'd recommend using it.  If you
want, and I can find the time, I'll work up a patch for it.
