First of all, to keep all the informations related to your problem in a single
place, I suggest we use only this tracker item, and use the web interface to
reply to the conversation. Is it ok for you? :)

The frontend is not copied or installed by the Makefile.

Hmm, I don't see where's the issue. When restarting Apache, did you get any
warning?
Is it possible that you attach your Apache configuration file to this tracker
item? That would allow me to test it.
