Submitted by: yeupou Project: Savannah Submitted on: 2002-May-03 22:59 Category: Other Severity: 3 - Ordinary Priority: Low Bug Group: None Resolution: None Assigned to: ljulliar Status: Open Effort: 0.25 Summary: private projects do not show in /my/ Original Submission: "If you're a member of a private project it does not show in the /my/ page which should be fixed" http://savannah.gnu.org/pm/task.php?func=detailtask&project_task_id=159&group_id=11&group_project_id=1 Follow-up Comments ******************* ------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2002-May-17 17:38 By: nospam I think both ways. Its easy access to have the project on /my, on the other hand, if you're working on another project with a friend, and your friend is not supposed to know about the private project, it gets complicated. I guess it depends on "how private" a project /really/ is. Maybe the project admin could have a setting for the project, or you could just leave it as it is, since then individual developers might want to turn this off for a given project. Anyway, I guess its a political decisition - is there any documents on the politics / filosofy of Savannah that covers this issue? ------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2002-May-09 01:23 By: yeupou In fact, this was in the task list. Personnally I think that since a user is logged, project, private or no, should be showed on his personnal page. This high security issue is user loggin and not private/not private project, no ? ------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2002-May-05 13:42 By: ljulliar It's not a bug, it's a feature. Originally Private projects were really intended to be as hidden as possible and as secure as possible. Therefore they are not even shown on your personal page. I guess the motivation was security: even if you forgot to logout before leaving a desktop machine nobody can guess what the private projects are. I agree it's a bit paranoid but it is safer. I'm not sure we want to modify this feature, do we? ------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2002-May-03 23:15 By: yeupou I'm not able to test this, I'm not member of any private project.
